A single malt whisky, carefully made using a selection of specialised malts. Once fermented, the wash is potstilled twice to retain the wonderful maltiness. The pure heart cut is matured in custom 100 L toasted hybrid French and American oak casks, until the optimum marriage of wood and malt is obtained. This whisky is non-chill filtered to retain its optimum colour and flavour.
Tasting Notes Nose: A robust medley of rich dark raisins, caramel, bittersweet chocolate and molasses.
Taste: Rich dried dried fruit and nuts with cookies and hints of ripe almond. Warming spice develop to liven up the palate with slightly bitter sweet notes.
Finish: Long and warm with a lingering malt character.
The African Bonfire Whisky is our expression of an African Style Whisky. This sorghum malt based whisky is matured using African indigenous Camel Thorn wood. This complex whisky has a subtle smokiness, deep red colour and a touch of sweetness on the palate. It has been described as a Bushveld fireside braai experience in a bottle.
